The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas throws out a loose jab but Mccarty uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thomas throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Mccarty does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mccarty doesn't manage to clinch there - Thomas circles away.
Thomas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mccarty.
Thomas takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Thomas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mccarty's head backwards.
Mccarty is rocked!
Thomas fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Mccarty out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Jakob Thomas!
After the fight, Jakob Thomas was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
