PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between MixMaster Me (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Me comes to the cage accompanied by Digital Animal. Key has chosen Till I Collapse - Eminem as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, MixMaster Me!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Key!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Me throws a right and a left that both miss.
Me tries to close the distance and clinch up but Key swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Me tries to clinch up.
Key lands a jab.
Key swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Me.
Key connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Me tries to clinch there but Key circles away.
Me takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Key lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Me slips under a jab.
Me gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Key keeps the fight on the outside.
Me slips a jab from Key.
Me tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Key manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Me takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Key misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Me.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Key swats away the attempt to clinch by Me.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Me trying to stall but Key improves his position.

Key is trying to push Me away but Me has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Me blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Key looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Key scores with a shot to the side of Me's head.
Key wants to break free but Me has control.

Key pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Me displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Key throws out the jab.
Key blocks a head kick by Me.
Key has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Key rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Me moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Key misses the jab.
Key misses with an uppercut.
Key is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Me fails in his attempt to clinch.
Me takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Key misses with a wild body shot.
Me tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Key scores with a jab to the jaw.
Key blocks the body kick.
Key swings for the body but Me moves out of range.
Key thows a left - swing and a miss!
Me fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Me throws out a leg kick but Key moves out of range and Me only half commits.
Key lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Me clinches up with Key and pushes him back against the cage.
Key misses with the head strike.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Me tries to break free but Key pushes him back against the cage.
Key has a couple of punches blocked by Me.
Key tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Me blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Key lands a hook to the side of the head.
Key misses with the head strike.
Me blocks an uppercut.

Me's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Me keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Key.
Key misses with an uppercut. Me saw that one coming.
Me has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Key finds it's way round the side to connect with Me's head.
Key just misses with a punch to the body.
Key's jab looks to have found its range, popping Me under the eye.
Me throws a head kick but Key moves out of range.
Me tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Key works Me's body with a nice hook.
Me drops his hands momentarily and Key takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Key. Me does a little dance to reset his feet.
Me looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Key throws a shot from downtown. Me moves away and avoids it.
Key throws a poor cross that misses
and Me counters with a one-two to the body.
Me is breathing heavily.
Key lands a head shot.
Key misses with a wild body shot.
Me takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Key thuds his right hand into Me's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Key avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Me fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Key has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Me takes one on the button.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Me moves away from the strike by Key.
Key fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Me is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Key keeps the fight on the outside.
Me misses with a series of wild punches.
Key misses with a straight left.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A big right from Key misses.
Me takes one to the chin there.
Me tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Me doesn't manage to clinch there - Key circles away.
A jab from Key finds it's way through Me's defenses.
Me ducks under a wild hook from Key.
Me fails in his attempt to clinch.
Me with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Key to score with a decent uppercut.
Key catches Me with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Key circles away from the clinch attempt
and Key cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


Me is rocked!
Key thows a left - swing and a miss!
A left lands for Key.
Oh Me is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters circling - Key throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Key lands a nice hook to Me's body. Me takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Me looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Key misses the jab.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Key throws out a loose jab but Me uses good head movement to avoid it.
Me seems to have got his legs back now.
Me moves away from the strike by Key.
Me tries to close the distance and clinch but Key swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Key rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Me counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Me pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Me avoids the body shot from Key.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Key dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Me doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Key lands with a right hand.
Me tries to bum rush Key with a series of wild strikes but Key uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Me moves in looking to clinch but Key pushes him off.
Me takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Key connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Me looks up at the clock. Bad move! Key lands a right hand from hell, dropping Me. Key pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tim Key!
