Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Timmermans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Nilsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Jeffrey Timmermans has been cut.

Timmermans has taken the fight to the clinch.
Timmermans tries for a takedown but Nilsson manages to get underhooks.
Nilsson wants to break the clinch but can't.

I was talking to Timmermans's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Nilsson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Timmermans jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nilsson walks away with a smile on his face. Timmermans gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Timmermans had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nilsson defends it easily.

Nilsson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Timmermans moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Timmermans drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nilsson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Timmermans has Nilsson in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nilsson lands with a nice combination. Timmermans backs away looking to recover.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nilsson lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Timmermans is looking to close the distance but Nilsson sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Timmermans crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Timmermans is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
