Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Woody May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borgen Stein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May comes to the cage accompanied by Watch you Bleed by FFDP. Stein has chosen Shut 'em Down as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Woody May!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Borgen Stein!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein lands a right hook to the body.
Stein looks to land a combination but May avoids it well.

May closes the distance and clinches.

May manages to break the clinch.
May tries to clinch but Stein is having none of it.
May has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Stein throws an uppercut from half a mile away. May sees it coming and avoids it easily.
May looks to land a right hand but Stein moved out of range.
Stein tests May's chin there with a solid looking shot.
May looks to score with a jab to the body but Stein is just out of range.

Stein catches May napping and connects with a big right hand that sends May to the canvas!
This has been an exciting period of action!
May is pulling down on Stein's head. It's preventing any offense from Stein, at least for the moment.
Stein looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Stein throwing strikes from guard but May blocks nicely.
May looking to control.
Stein engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Woody May just wasn't active enough.
May tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Stein dives in and scores a takedown into May's guard.
Stein slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Stein throws a big elbow that misses.
May seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

May takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stein takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

May moves into the clinch successfully.
May is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Stein tries to pull guard but May won't allow it.
Stein throws an elbow but it misses.
Stein misses with a body punch.
May blocks a body shot from Stein.
Stein swings wildly with an uppercut but May uses good head movement to avoid it.

A head punch blocked on the inside by May.
Stein doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

May breaks the clinch.
Stein cracks May with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Stein ducks down and throws a hook to the body but May moves away.
May takes a swing at Stein's ribcage but misses.
Stein motions for May to come forward. Stein throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Stein bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Woody May seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
May tries to move into range but Stein moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


May is rocked!
May tries to clinch up.
Stein throws a body punch but May moves out of range.
May tries to clinch up.

May is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
May misses with a series of wild punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
May wants to clinch.
Stein lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Stein is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! May had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Stein circles away from the clinch attempt.

May wants to clinch up but Stein keeps it at a distance.
Stein connects with a crisp jab.
Oh May is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stein works May's body with a nice hook.
Stein looks to land a right hand but May moved out of range.
May seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stein throws a lazy right hand but May sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
May wants to clinch but Stein slips to the side
enabling Stein to counter with a crisp jab.
May with a hook.

Stein shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Stein not doing much here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borgen Stein dominated that round.
That's time! May's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Stein closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into May's guard.
May controls Stein momentarily but Stein frees himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stein accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stein trying to control the position from guard on top but May is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Stein seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Stein won't allow May to get back to his feet.
Stein wants to control from the top but May keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Borgen Stein hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
May checks the leg kick.
Stein throws a half hearted mid kick.

May closes the distance and pushes Stein back into the cage.

Stein's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
May ducks under a wild hook from Stein.
Stein swats away the attempt to clinch by May.
May misses with a body shot

and Stein counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
May blocking the ground and pound attempt from Stein.
Stein is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

This has been an exciting period of action!
May is trying to stand.
May is trying to control but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - May looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Stein lands with a shot to the body.
May wants to clinch.
May takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
May misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stein.

Stein waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract May.
Stein does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Stein throws a leg kick but May sees it coming and moves out of range.

May keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Stein uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by May.
May tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Stein manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

May takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Stein sizes up May with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
May tries to close the distance and clinch but Stein swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
May throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Good exchange - Stein coming out on top.
Some bone on bone action there as May checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Stein throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stein has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
May blocks a jab.
May thows a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed right hand from Stein misses the target.
Stein dives in and grabs May's left leg, looking for a takedown. May pushes down on Stein's head and hops out.
May throws a wild body kick that Stein sees coming a mile off.
Stein slips a straight right by May.
May tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stein swats him away and circles back towards the center.
May takes one on the button.
May scores with a hook to the body. Stein takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
May tries to clinch up.

Stein throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
May moves in looking to clinch but Stein pushes him off.
Stein connects with a looping right hand.
Stein swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
May just misses with a punch to the body.
May gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Stein is trying hard to land a takedown here. May sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
May tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stein paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Stein throws a low kick but May avoids it.
The fighters circle momentarily. May darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stein tests May's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nice takedown defense from May. No joy for Stein on that attempt.
Woody May has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Borgen Stein.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
May scores with a hook to the body. Stein takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Stein is breathing heavily.
Stein takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
May wants to clinch but Stein slips to the side

so Stein counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borgen Stein showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! May's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Stein moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Stein throws a leg kick but May sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nice jab there from Stein.
May walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
May takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
May misses with a body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from May. Stein does a little dance to reset his feet.
May uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stein has time to react.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stein throws a combination but it was largely blocked by May.
and May counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Stein! He's just covering up as May starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Woody May!
