Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Richie Furst!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Furst is looking to chop away at Palahniuk's legs.
Furst tries to clinch but Palahniuk moves out of range.
Furst tries to clinch up.
Furst is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Furst moves out of range of the body kick.
Furst tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Palahniuk counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Furst looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Palahniuk stops Furst from standing up.
Palahniuk controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Palahniuk postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Palahniuk with a flurry of punches that miss.
Furst can't keep his opponent in guard - Palahniuk advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Palahniuk thows a huge punch but Furst dodges it nicely.

Palahniuk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Furst is just riding it out for now. Palahniuk eventually gives up the hold.
Palahniuk is thwarting Furst's attempts to control the position.
Furst is pressing down on Palahniuk's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Furst looking for a sweep. Not yet Furst, not yet.
Palahniuk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Furst swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Furst is not content to let Palahniuk control the position.

Palahniuk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Furst down.

Palahniuk thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Furst tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Furst is trying to escape the position but Palahniuk is controlling the position.
Palahniuk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Palahniuk is trying to get an arm triangle but Furst is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Palahniuk throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Palahniuk thows a body shot but no joy.
Furst tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Palahniuk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Furst just misses with a punch to the body.
Furst wants to clinch.

Palahniuk goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Furst takes the fight into the clinch.
Furst working aggressively here.
Furst blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Furst with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Palahniuk tries to break the clinch but Furst is controlling the position.

Furst misses with some punches.
Furst lands a hook that snaps the head of Palahniuk backwards.
Palahniuk misses with a punch on the inside.
Palahniuk can't break the clinch.
Furst keeps control of Palahniuk as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A nice left hand lands by Furst.
Furst swings wildly with an uppercut but Palahniuk uses good head movement to avoid it.
Furst misses with a punch on the inside.
Furst misses with some punches.
Furst makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Palahniuk looking to stall.

Palahniuk lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Palahniuk scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Furst wants to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Palahniuk connects with a nice short shot to Furst's temple.

Palahniuk has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Furst defend it? Palahniuk steps over the head and cranks it - Furst is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Palahniuk!
