The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgrady misses with a right hand
and Suzinuki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Suzinuki counters with a nice uppercut.
Kyle Mcgrady seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcgrady enables Suzinuki to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcgrady manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Suzinuki avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Mcgrady is looking to get back to full guard here but Suzinuki has managed to pass to side control instead.

Suzinuki fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Suzinuki breaks from Mcgrady's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Suzinuki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Suzinuki pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
