Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior fails with the takedown.
Junior could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Junior shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Junior's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Silva counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberts Junior. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Junior is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well.

Junior tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Junior is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!

Silva rolls, trying to escape but Junior keeps control of the position.
Silva is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Junior off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Junior has got one arm under Silva's chin. This could be trouble... Silva trying to control the other hand but Junior gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Silva has tapped out! The fight is over!

Roberts Junior seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
