The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watford scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bandyta is looking for a sweep. Watford is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bandyta gets full guard.
Watford throwing strikes but missing.

Bandyta goes for an armbar but Watford turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Watford.

Bandyta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Watford manages to get himself to full guard.

Bandyta goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Watford has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bandyta but great work by Watford.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Watford tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Bandyta tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Watford wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Watford is trying to stand back up but Bandyta is controlling him

Bandyta is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Watford sees it coming and defends easily.

Bandyta is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Bandyta seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watford is looking to control Bandyta's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Watford avoid being mounted?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Watford is controlling Bandyta's position as best he can from this difficult position.

That was a close round but I would say that Olaf Bandyta will probably get the nod.
