The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gaines gets a clinch.

Bill has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Gaines regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gaines is pulling down on Bill's head. It's preventing any offense from Bill, at least for the moment.
Gaines will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Bill trying to control the position from guard on top but Gaines is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bill cracks Gaines with a solid left hand.
Bill wants to stand but Gaines has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Gaines is adopting a defensive guard.

Bill has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gaines to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Bill is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gaines pulls down on the head and he's put Bill to sleep! This one is all over!
