The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan throws a chopping leg kick but Smith manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
A slapping leg kick lands for Khan.

Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

I was talking to Khan's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Khan swings wildly with an uppercut but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Khan is trying to push Smith away but Smith has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Smith is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Khan is defending well for now.

Khan is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Smith is keeping busy.

Smith rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Khan makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Khan goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Khan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Khan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Khan lands a front kick.

Khan tries a low kick but Smith avoids it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smith misses the shot to the body.

Khan feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Smith sprawling to the canvas! Smith rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Khan finish him?!
Khan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Khan.
Khan feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Smith's calf.
Smith is breathing heavily.

Khan fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Smith to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Smith looks to clinch but Khan throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Smith taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
