Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rilgard Relson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Marquez!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marquez has closed the distance and engaged Relson in a clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Marquez passes Relson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Relson tries to roll over but Marquez keeps him under control.
Relson is looking to control Marquez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Relson avoid being mounted?

Relson is looking for a sweep. Marquez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Relson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marquez is trying to control. Relson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marquez wants to control from the top but Relson keeps moving.

Marquez is trying to control the action in half guard but Relson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Marquez slows the pace down in half guard.
Marquez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Relson is not content to let Marquez control the position.

Marquez uses his free foot to push down on Relson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Relson.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marquez prevents Relson from getting the reversal.

Marquez lands a big shot there that rocks Relson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Marquez thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Relson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Marquez not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Marquez is looking to advance position but Relson won't allow it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Relson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Relson is squirming around, avoiding Marquez's attempts to control the action.
Marquez sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Marquez dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Marquez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Marquez lands a jab to the head.
Relson fails with the takedown.
Marquez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A shot to the liver by Marquez. Beautiful body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Marquez scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Relson doesn't seem bothered though.
Marquez cracks Relson with a good jab.

Marquez lands a big right hand that sends Relson crashing to the mat! Marquez stays standing though and waves Relson back to his feet!


Relson is rocked!
Marquez lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Relson up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Marquez from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Relson's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jay Marquez!
