Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Wilderman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Wilderman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Baird!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kevin Wilderman!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilderman gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Baird really is a fat lump.

Wilderman breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kevin Wilderman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wilderman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Baird to the ground. Wilderman is now in Baird's guard.

Wilderman sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Wilderman trying to control the position from guard on top but Baird is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Kevin Wilderman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Baird is trying to get back to full guard.
Wilderman trying to control the action but Baird is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kevin Wilderman.

Wilderman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Baird sprawls well initially but Wilderman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kevin Wilderman.
Wilderman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Horrible takedown by Baird or perhaps it was just good defense by Wilderman which made him look bad.

Baird fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wilderman to the ground. Baird is now in Wilderman's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Wilderman wants to stand but Baird is controlling the position.

Wilderman working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Baird has passed into half guard!
Baird works his foot free and advances to mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Baird goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Wilderman turns into him and now he's in Baird's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Baird shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wilderman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Baird feints and as Wilderman raises his hands in defense, Baird changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wilderman has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Wilderman preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Baird is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilderman has wrist control.
Wilderman wants to get back to his feet but Baird is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Baird might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Wilderman throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Baird throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wilderman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Baird is looking to work some ground and pound but Wilderman has wrist control.

Wilderman has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Baird is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Wilderman lands an elbow inside that Baird shrugs off.


It looks like Joseph Baird has been cut.
Wilderman lands a body punch in the clinch.

Wilderman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wilderman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kevin Wilderman wasn't active enough on the ground.

Baird tries to keep at a distance but Wilderman has taken the fight into the clinch.

Wilderman has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Baird regains guard immediately.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baird wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Wilderman is now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Wilderman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Joseph Baird's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Wilderman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Baird can't fight it off and eventually Wilderman manages to take the fight to the floor. Baird looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Baird bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilderman's guard.
Wilderman wants to sweep here but Baird controlling him for the moment.

Wilderman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kevin Wilderman wasn't active enough on the ground.

Wilderman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Wilderman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Baird keeps Wilderman under control for a moment.
Joseph Baird has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kevin Wilderman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wilderman throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Well Wilderman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
