The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nacvlisvili moves into the clinch.
Nacvlisvili comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Hipolito Valentine has been cut.
Nacvlisvili breaks from the clinch.
Nika Nacvlisvili seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nacvlisvili has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nacvlisvili's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Valentine wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Valentine is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Nacvlisvili is defending well.
Nacvlisvili jumps guard and drags Valentine to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Nacvlisvili bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Valentine's guard.
Valentine wants to stand and escape but Nacvlisvili is having none of it.

Nacvlisvili drops back looking for a leg! Valentine is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valentine manages to kick Nacvlisvili off! Nacvlisvili jumps back into Valentine's guard.
Valentine wants to sweep but no luck.

Valentine wants to get back to his feet but Nacvlisvili is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Valentine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Valentine looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Valentine tries to sprawl but Nacvlisvili drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Nacvlisvili frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Valentine tries to lock up and control but Nacvlisvili gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Valentine is in a horrible position here. Nacvlisvili smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Valentine really wants to buck Nacvlisvili off and get back to his feet.
Nacvlisvili pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Valentine tries to lock up and control but Nacvlisvili gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Valentine is trying to stand up.
Valentine is breathing heavily.
Nacvlisvili loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Valentine scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Nacvlisvili land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Nacvlisvili stands and salutes the crowd.
