Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cortland Cartwright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Griffin Parker!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright throws a head kick that misses.
Parker lunges at Cartwright with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cartwright's hand.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cartwright is defended easily by Parker.
Cortland Cartwright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cartwright takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Cartwright gets the takedown into side control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Cartwright has control of an arm but Parker manages to advance to Cartwright's back!
Parker looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Parker wants to control but Cartwright is keeping busy.

Parker just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Parker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cartwright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cartwright bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Cartwright passes Parker's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Parker wants to sweep but Cartwright has passed to side control!

Cartwright wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Parker, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Parker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Parker is trying to get back to his feet.

Cartwright is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Parker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Cartwright tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cartwright has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cartwright scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Parker to see if he's OK.

Cartwright thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Parker is trying to improve his position.
Cartwright wants to control but Parker is keeping him busy.

Cartwright wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Parker, who protects the arm well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Parker managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cartwright.

Cartwright working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cartwright wants to take a breather but Parker manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Cartwright.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cartwright shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Parker but Parker pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Parker tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Parker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cartwright throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Parker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Parker is trying to control the position but Cartwright postures up.
Cartwright tries to free his leg and advance position but Parker is retaining full guard.
Cartwright missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cartwright passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Cartwright is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Parker has escaped the position, nice work there.

Cartwright is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Parker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cartwright tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Parker gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Parker is in all sorts of trouble here.
Parker wants to hold on but Cartwright pushes him away.

Cartwright with shots to the head and body - Parker looks very uncomfortable down there.

Cartwright is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Cartwright extends the arm and Parker is forced to tap!
