Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Rousey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ayrton Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rousey comes to the cage accompanied by Creepy Jackalope Eye by Supersuckers. Silva has chosen METAMORFOSE AMBULANTE - RAUL SEIXAS as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Rousey.
Silva on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Silva closes the distance looking to clinch

and Rousey counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Rousey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rousey has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
Rousey distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rousey defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rousey stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Silva is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rousey scores with a couple of nice shots.
Rousey winds up and cracks Silva with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Silva wants to improve his position but Rousey is controlling well.

Rousey is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Silva has managed to free his arm - good work.
Rousey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rousey is working away from the top position though.
Silva is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rousey scores with a couple of nice shots.
Silva felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rousey pulls his head out easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva is in a horrible position here. Rousey smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Rousey postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Silva badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Rousey around the waist but Rousey pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Rousey is the winner by TKO! Rousey jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
