The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Vargas gets a clinch.
Vargas decides to pull guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sanayev is looking to work some ground and pound but Vargas has wrist control.
Vargas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sanayev on the ground.

Vargas has Sanayev pulled in close to control his posture.
Sanayev cracks Vargas with a solid left hand.
Sanayev landing some decent shots from guard.

Sanayev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vargas wants to stand and escape but Sanayev is having none of it.

Vargas has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Vargas tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sanayev is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vargas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vargas has escaped and now he's on top!
Sanayev is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Vargas frees his head nicely. Oh but Sanayev has switched to an armbar! Vargas is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Marat Sanayev decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
