Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Pasqual (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manuel Pasqual!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Reeves!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reeves scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Reeves is looking to take a break and control but Pasqual is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pasqual is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Reeves is controlling him well.
Reeves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pasqual. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Reeves cracks Pasqual with a big right hand but Pasqual just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pasqual defending against the ground and pound.
Reeves in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Reeves remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Pasqual is looking for a sweep.
Reeves throwing strikes but Pasqual manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Reeves gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Reeves punching from the bottom.
Reeves keeping hold of Pasqual's head, controlling as best he can.
Reeves is looking for a sweep. Pasqual is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reeves can do anything to dispel that myth.

Reeves wants to get back to full guard.
Reeves tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Reeves moves into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pasqual trying to control but Reeves is working from the bottom.
Reeves throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Reeves striking off his back but it's not causing Pasqual any problems.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pasqual throws a nice inside leg kick.

Reeves moves into the clinch successfully.
Reeves managing to block the knees to the body from Pasqual.
Pasqual lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Reeves turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Reeves trying to control the position but Pasqual is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reeves looks gassed!
Reeves grinds an elbow into Pasqual's temple.

Reeves prevents Pasqual from escaping the position.
Reeves working away.
Reeves throws an elbow but Pasqual slips to the side and avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pasqual tries to improve position but can't.
Reeves trying to control the position but Pasqual is working away.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Reeves shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pasqual's guard.
Reeves throwing strikes but missing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reeves looking to sit in guard and control but Pasqual gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Reeves is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pasqual wants to stand but Reeves is controlling his posture from full guard.
Reeves is trying to keep Pasqual in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Reeves dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Pasqual throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Reeves's head.
Reeves avoids the head kick by Pasqual.
Reeves throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pasqual's waist but Pasqual gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reeves off to one side.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pasqual.
Victor Reeves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pasqual digs a good body shot into Reeves's ribs.
Reeves circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pasqual feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Reeves's calf.
Pasqual misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Reeves takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
A good leg kick by Pasqual.

Reeves shoots in and bounces Pasqual off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Reeves throws and elbow that misses. Pasqual uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reeves's guard. Nice move by Pasqual!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pasqual trying to control the position from guard on top but Reeves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Reeves wants to sweep but no luck.

Reeves has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pasqual is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Reeves.
Pasqual working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pasqual wants to stand but Reeves has his arm trapped.
Pasqual blocks the strikes from Reeves.
Reeves is looking to reverse the position.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Reeves is looking for a sweep.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Pasqual fails in his attempt to clinch.
Reeves takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Reeves avoids the head kick by Pasqual.
Manuel Pasqual is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pasqual lands a glancing blow to the side of Reeves's head.
Pasqual misses with a head kick.
Pasqual throws a sloppy head kick and Reeves moves out of range easily.
Reeves takes a kick to the side of the head.

Pasqual is looking to slow Reeves down with leg kicks.
Reeves fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Reeves controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Pasqual trying to keep a closed guard but Reeves is proving a slippery customer.
Pasqual avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Pasqual thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Reeves thows a big elbow that misses.
Reeves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manuel Pasqual dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Reeves shoots in and drives through. Pasqual sprawls well.
Pasqual misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Pasqual.
Reeves shoots in but Pasqual avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice straight punches there by Pasqual. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pasqual.
A jab lands there for Reeves.
Reeves circles away from the clinch attempt

and Reeves counters with a nice double leg into side control. Pasqual won't be happy with that.
Reeves wants to control but Pasqual is keeping him busy.
Pasqual is pushing Reeves's head away, looking to escape. Reeves manages to hold on to the position though.
Reeves postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Reeves is looking to take a break and control but Pasqual is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Pasqual, as that shot connected.
Reeves shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pasqual but Pasqual pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Manuel Pasqual has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Reeves.
Pasqual throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Reeves shoots in for a double leg but Pasqual sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Reeves takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Pasqual dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pasqual with a hook.
Pasqual tries to clinch but Reeves moves out of range.
Pasqual lands a head kick!
A slow jab from Pasqual misses its intended target.
Reeves shoots for a takedown but Pasqual saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pasqual throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pasqual throws a head kick but Reeves moves out of range.
Pasqual pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Reeves shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Reeves trying to control the position from guard on top but Pasqual is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pasqual is looking to stand up but Reeves isn't so interested in that idea.
Reeves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pasqual swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Reeves throws and elbow that misses. Pasqual uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reeves's guard. Nice move by Pasqual!

I would just about give that final round to Victor Reeves.
I think Reeves has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
