Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Adrik Kyznetsov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adrik Kyznetsov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fernando Silva!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyznetsov moves to clinch but Silva breaks away

and Silva moves into the clinch.

Silva's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Silva forces Kyznetsov back against the cage and clinches.
Silva misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kyznetsov.
Kyznetsov has had enough of the clinch but Silva keeps him there for the moment.
Kyznetsov tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position.

Kyznetsov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Silva is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kyznetsov to the mat. Kyznetsov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Silva chips away with some ground and pound.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Silva loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kyznetsov is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Silva dives into side control.

Silva stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Silva closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kyznetsov's guard.
Kyznetsov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kyznetsov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Silva takes a kick to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ground and pound from Silva.
Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Silva is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Silva gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kyznetsov pushes Silva away with a front kick.
Kyznetsov turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kyznetsov scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
A combination from Silva does no damage.
Kyznetsov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silva shoots in but no luck this time.
Silva on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kyznetsov throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Silva closes the distance and pushes Kyznetsov back into the cage.

Silva jumps guard and drags Kyznetsov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva tries to strike from the bottom.

Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kyznetsov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kyznetsov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Fernando Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kyznetsov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kyznetsov lands a jab-cross combination.

Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kyznetsov is trying to break the clinch but Silva has him pressed against the cage.

Silva is trying to trip Kyznetsov. He has hold of a leg but Kyznetsov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Silva persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Silva controlling the position.
Silva working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Kyznetsov is letting Silva control him for a moment.

Silva stands up.

Kyznetsov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kyznetsov.
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kyznetsov.
Kyznetsov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A looping hook to the body misses from Silva. Kyznetsov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Silva misses with a few strikes there.

A nice inside leg kick there by Kyznetsov. That's going to slow Silva down.

Silva moves into range and clinches up with Kyznetsov.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kyznetsov wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Silva is now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Kyznetsov which made him look bad.
Silva takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fernando Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Silva will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Kyznetsov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Kyznetsov looking to sit in guard and control but Silva gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Silva stays in close to Kyznetsov's body and controls the position.
Kyznetsov wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.
Kyznetsov is looking to stand up but Silva isn't so interested in that idea.
Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Kyznetsov wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.

Kyznetsov wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Silva manages to pass to side control.

Silva sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Kyznetsov's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kyznetsov duly obliges.

Silva rushes Kyznetsov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kyznetsov defends well.

Fernando Silva is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
