PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Findlay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Mikhail (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Findlay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Mikhail!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikhail shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mikhail shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Findlay pinned against the cage. Findlay gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Good leg kick by Findlay there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Mikhail keeps the fight on the outside.
Findlay is looking to land body kicks.
Findlay throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Findlay wants to clinch.

and Mikhail counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Mikhail throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mikhail stalling away here and it's allowed Findlay to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Findlay is not content to let Mikhail control the position.
Mikhail looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mikhail is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mikhail winds up and cracks Findlay with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Mikhail takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mikhail seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ivan Mikhail was stalling too much, according to the referee.
