Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chocolate Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darby Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Magnetic Eyes. The crowd seem to be enjoying Gordon's choice of entrance music: United Booty Foundation. Darby Gordon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chocolate Al!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darby Gordon!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon throws a jab but it's blocked by Al.
Gordon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gordon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Al stuns Gordon with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gordon has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Al uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Gordon.
Al connects with a body shot that sends Gordon's belly button to the back.
Al throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Al misses with a hook.
Al throws a right hand that misses
and Gordon counters with a three punch combo that has Al backing up. Al nods at Gordon to acknowledge the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gordon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gordon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Al fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gordon manages to avoid it.

Gordon gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Al lands a head shot.
Gordon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Al moves away.
Al throws a body punch but Gordon moves out of range.
Al looks to land a right hand but Gordon moved out of range.

and Gordon connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Al swings away with a body shot that misses
and Gordon counters with a left and a right that stings Al.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Al throws a hook but Gordon blocks it.
Al lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Al is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Al misses with a wild combination.
Al throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Al throws an overhand right that lands on Gordon's shoulder, as Gordon tries to avoid the shot.
Al listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Al dips to his left and cracks Gordon with an uppercut!
Gordon's jab looks to have found its range, popping Al under the eye.
Al swings for the body but Gordon moves out of range.
Al keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Gordon fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Al throws a hook to the side of Gordon's head but Gordon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Al loads up on a big right hand but Gordon slips the punch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Gordon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gordon takes a swing at Al's ribcage but misses.
Gordon scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Al waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gordon.

Al tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gordon was well out of range. Poor timing from Al.
Gordon connects with a nice looking jab.
Gordon lands a nice looking body shot.
Gordon blocks a jab.
Al throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slow jab from Gordon misses its intended target.
Chocolate Al seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Al misses the shot to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gordon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gordon uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Al.
Al goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Darby Gordon will probably get the nod.
That's time! Al's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Al has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

and Gordon lands a stunning uppercut that sends Al to the mat!


Al is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gordon thows a huge punch but Al dodges it nicely.
Oh Al is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Al keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Al seems to have got his legs back now.
Gordon throwing shots but Al is blocking nicely.
Al on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Al tries to get out of the position.
Gordon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Al's head.

Gordon wants to stand up but Al is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Al lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gordon!

Gordon holds on for dear life, controlling Al's posture momentarily.
Al takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Gordon is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darby Gordon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Gordon tests Al's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Al feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gordons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Gordon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gordon throws a series of punches but Al avoids them all with ease.

Gordon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Al clobbers Gordon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

enabling Gordon to counter with a crisp jab.
Al takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Al throws a shot from downtown. Gordon moves away and avoids it.
Al is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gordon.

Chocolate Al has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Gordon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Al sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Darby Gordon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Darby Gordon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Al moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Al swings for the body but Gordon moves out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
Darby Gordon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gordon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
