Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Black Belt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Burza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Burza's choice of entrance music: Metallica - Enter Sandman. Black Belt could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John Burza's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Black Belt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Burza!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belt closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Burza fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Burza shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice jab there from Burza.
Burza throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Belt stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Belt moves forwards but Burza connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Burza slips under a jab.
John Burza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burza takes a swing at Belt's ribcage but misses.
Belt takes a jab right on the kisser.
Burza shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Black Belt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Burza.

Belt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Burza moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Belt shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Burza is trying to defend but Belt finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Belt thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Burza wants to get back to his feet but Belt is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Belt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Burza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Belt, into his guard.

Belt has his foot on Burza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burza works his way back into a safe position though.

Belt throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Burza escapes and throws Belt's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Burza is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Belt has escaped the position, nice work there.

Burza looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Burza is looking to take a break and control but Belt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Burza stands up and beckons Belt to his feet.

Burza throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Belt stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Burza paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Burza gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Belt to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Black Belt dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Burza drives through with a takedown into Belt's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Belt wants to sweep but no luck.

Burza gets to his feet. Belt looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

We've been informed that Burza has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Burza lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Burza tests Belt's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Burza throws an overhand right that lands on Belt's shoulder, as Belt tries to avoid the shot.

Belt tries for a takedown but Burza circles away easily
enabling Burza to counter with a crisp jab.

Burza closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Belt quickly recovers to half guard.
Belt is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at SWF GYM , so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Burza wants to lay and pray for a moment but Belt keeps working.

Belt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Burza pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Belt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burza sprawls well. Burza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Belt gets slowly back to his feet.

Burza drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Burza must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

John Burza showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Burza's corner calls for a 1-2. Burza obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Burza tries to bum rush Belt with a series of wild strikes but Belt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Burza lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Belt circles away quickly and effectively.
Burza bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Belt's head.

Burza lands a nice hook to Belt's body. Belt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Belt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burza swivels and escapes.

Burza stalks Belt and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Belt's face. Belt staggers backwards, shaken.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Burza can't keep his opponent in guard - Belt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Burza regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Belt.

Burza is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Burza wants to break the clinch but can't.

Belt struggles to land a body shot inside as Burza controls his hands.

Burza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

John Burza opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
