Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ramstein Rommel!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rommel lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like John Barnes has been cut.
Barnes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Barnes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rommel tries to bum rush Barnes with a series of wild strikes but Barnes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Rommel misses with the combination.
Rommel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Barnes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Barnes tries to land a front kick but Rommel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Rommel dives in for a single leg takedown but Barnes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Rommel blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rommel tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Barnes just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rommel jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barnes walks away with a smile on his face. Rommel gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
John Barnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramstein Rommel.
Rommel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Barnes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rommel is trying to break the clinch but Barnes is controlling him.

Rommel has clasped his hands together around Barnes's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Rommel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rommel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Barnes manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rommel's best efforts.
Barnes wants to get back to full guard but Rommel has mounted him!
Rommel wants to take his opponent's back but Barnes doesn't allow it.

Rommel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Barnes tries to hold on but Rommel postures up.
Rommel prevents Barnes from getting the reversal.

Rommel swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
