PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Felipe Frulani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dark Evil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frulani comes to the cage accompanied by In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 by Coheed and Cambria. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Felipe Frulani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dark Evil!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evil scores with a takedown into Frulani's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Evil trying to control but Frulani is working from the bottom.
Evil is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Evil has gone for a leg lock! Frulani slips out almost immediately though and dives into Evil's guard.
Our spies down at at Beauty School inform us that Evil has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Evil controlling Frulani's posture.
Evil preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Evil looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Frulani throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Evil works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Evil is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Frulani trying to control but Evil is working from the bottom.
Evil not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Evil might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Frulani haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Frulani throws a strike but Evil rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Evil engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Frulani looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Evil controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Evil drops back looking for a leg! Frulani is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Frulani manages to kick Evil off! Evil jumps back into Frulani's guard.
Evil trying to control but Frulani is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Evil slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dark Evil wasn't active enough on the ground.

Frulani looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Frulani throws a big elbow that misses.
Evil looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Evil working for a triangle but Frulani defends it easily.
Evil is trying to control the position but Frulani postures up.
Evil is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Frulani wants to control from the top but Evil keeps moving.
Evil has his hands on Frulani's head, controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Evil has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Frulani should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Evil has tightened it up now! Frulani should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dark Evil!
A relieved looking Dark Evil thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
