Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Deckard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Demaestri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Julian Demaestri is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bobby Deckard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Julian Demaestri!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Deckard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Demaestri to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Deckard is pulling down on Demaestri's head to control his posture.
Deckard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Deckard is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Demaestri is aware though and is defending well.
Deckard keeping moving, preventing Demaestri from controlling successfully.

Demaestri drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Demaestri jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Bobby Deckard just wasn't active enough.

Demaestri has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Demaestri scores with a hook to the body. Deckard takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Demaestri bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Deckard's head backwards.
Deckard throws a lazy right hand but Demaestri sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Deckard throws a shot from downtown. Demaestri moves away and avoids it.
Demaestri uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Deckard.

and Demaestri counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Demaestri is trying to control the action in half guard but Deckard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Demaestri trying to work for an americana but Deckard has managed to regain full guard.

Demaestri drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Deckard dives on top into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Demaestri is on top in guard.
Deckard throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Deckard working a defensive guard but Demaestri manages to pass into side control anyway.
Deckard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Deckard tries to get out of the position.
Deckard tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Demaestri wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Demaestri thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Deckard is looking for a sweep.

Demaestri looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Deckard sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Demaestri seems to be looking for submissions.
Deckard controlling the position well.
Deckard wants to control but Demaestri is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Demaestri is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Deckard gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Julian Demaestri will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Demaestri lands with a straight right. Deckard didn't see that one coming.
Deckard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Demaestri's waist but Demaestri gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Deckard off to one side.

Deckard ducks under a wild hook from Demaestri.
Demaestri shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Deckard as he avoids it easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Deckard. Demaestri does a little dance to reset his feet.
Demaestri slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Deckard throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Demaestri scores with a nice head shot.
Demaestri changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Demaestri enables Deckard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Demaestri manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Deckard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Demaestri has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Deckard has managed to get both his arms back between Demaestri's legs - danger averted.
Deckard has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Deckard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Demaestri swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bobby Deckard overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Deckard is sitting in close to Demaestri's body. Demaestri has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Deckard is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Deckard is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Demaestri.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Julian Demaestri!
A very excited looking Julian Demaestri made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
