PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Ballard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrei Kostoyevsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alonso Ballard had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alonso Ballard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Kostoyevsky!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ballard enables Kostoyevsky to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ballard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kostoyevsky tries to free his leg and advance position but Ballard is retaining full guard.
Kostoyevsky wants to stand and escape but instead Ballard has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well Kostoyevsky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
