Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hipolito Spence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mister Baiter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mister Baiter acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hipolito Spence!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mister Baiter!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baiter gets tackled into the cage by Spence. Spence maintains the clinch.
Baiter gets through Spence's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Spence really is a fat lump.
Spence keeps control of Baiter as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Spence pulls guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Spence wants to stand and escape but Baiter is having none of it.
Spence keeping moving, preventing Baiter from controlling successfully.
Baiter sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Baiter trying to control the position from guard on top but Spence is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mister Baiter wasn't active enough on the ground.

Spence rushes Baiter and presses him up against the cage.
Spence goes for a takedown attempt but Baiter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Baiter throws a push kick but Spence slaps the foot to one side.
Baiter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Baiter drives through and clinches with Spence against the cage.
Baiter looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Spence is trying to pull guard but Baiter has him pressed against the cage.
Baiter is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Baiter wants to break the clinch but can't.
Baiter is trying to push Spence away but Spence has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Baiter jumps into guard, dragging Spence to the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spence is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Baiter gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Spence is fighting off a takedown attempt but Baiter is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Spence to the mat. Spence regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Baiter wants to control from the top but Spence keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spence fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Baiter throws a lazy head kick

and Spence holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Spence tries to pull guard but Baiter forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Spence has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Baiter avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Baiter turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Baiter manages to end up in side control.

Baiter with the ground and pound but Spence uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Baiter is looking to work some ground and pound but Spence has wrist control.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Baiter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Spence keeping full guard, as Baiter tries to pass.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mister Baiter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Spence moves out of range of the leg kick from Baiter.
Baiter swinging wildly here.

Baiter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Spence wants to control but Baiter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Spence is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Spence tries to kick Baiter off but Baiter keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Spence is refusing to be controlled, as Baiter sits in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Baiter moves into the clinch.
Spence looking for a takedown.
Baiter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Spence has him pressed against the cage.
Spence fails to pull guard.
Spence tries for a takedown. No joy.
Spence jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Baiter walks away with a smile on his face. Spence gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Baiter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Spence wants to sweep but Baiter has passed to side control!

Spence is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Baiter decides to stand back up.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Baiter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Baiter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spence keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spence misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Spence is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mister Baiter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hipolito Spence.
Well Baiter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
