The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoe tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jones defends well and Hoe ends up having to push Jones into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hoe has Jones pressed against the cage, preventing Jones from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Hoe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hoe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hoe goes for a double leg but Jones avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jones continues to drive forward.

Hoe has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jones after a bit of a struggle.

Hoe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hoe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Hoe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones looks to land a left hand but Hoe moved out of range nicely.
Hoe throws a body kick that misses
and Jones counters with a nice leg kick.
Hoe ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jones - that will leave a mark!
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Jones lands a head kick that stumbles Hoe and the fighters go to the mat.

Hoe is rocked!

It looks like Joe Hoe has been cut.
Hoe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Jones postures up in Hoe's guard and throws a big left but Hoe blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hoe is lucky that one didn't land flush.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hoe. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Hoe shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jones goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Oh Hoe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones throws a monster overhand right that drops Hoe! Jones follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
