Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elijah Cervantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shingly Lingy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shingly Lingy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Elijah Cervantes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shingly Lingy!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lingy tries for a takedown but Cervantes circles away easily

and Cervantes counters by moving into the clinch.

Cervantes gets control of Lingy's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cervantes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Lingy trying to control but Cervantes is working from the bottom.
Lingy wanted to stand there but Cervantes had control of the position.
Lingy looking to sit in guard and control but Cervantes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cervantes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lingy is trying to keep Cervantes in close.

Cervantes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Shingly Lingy.

and Cervantes counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cervantes.

Cervantes decides to pull guard.
Lingy trying to control but Cervantes is working from the bottom.
Lingy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Cervantes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cervantes is pulling down on Lingy's head to control his posture.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lingy wants to stand and escape but instead Cervantes has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Cervantes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cervantes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lingy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Cervantes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lingy wants to clinch but Cervantes slips to the side

Lingy is wriggling around but Cervantes manages to pass to half guard.

Cervantes decides to return to a standing position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

so Cervantes counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Cervantes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Lingy trying to control here.
Cervantes perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cervantes with the ground and pound but Lingy uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Cervantes prevents Lingy from getting back to his feet.
Cervantes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Lingy is trying to hold Cervantes in close to prevent damage but Cervantes has managed to pass into half guard.
Lingy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Still in half guard, Cervantes seems content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Elijah Cervantes just wasn't active enough.
Lingy wants to clinch but Cervantes slips to the side

and Cervantes counters with a single leg into guard. Lingy didn't expect that.
Cervantes with a flurry of punches that miss.
Lingy is striking off his back. Cervantes thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Lingy is trying to control but can't.
Lingy tries to roll over but Cervantes keeps him under control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Cervantes stands up out of the half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Cervantes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lingy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lingy wants to control the position but Cervantes says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Cervantes looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lingy tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Cervantes manages to move to mount!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lingy wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Lingy wants to get back to his feet.
Cervantes has good solid back control here.

Lingy is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Lingy wants to get back to his feet.
Shingly Lingy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Elijah Cervantes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cervantes is riding his opponent, not letting Lingy buck him off.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Cervantes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
