Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Fritzjimmins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fritzjimmins has chosen Woodkid - Run Boy Run as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva moves out of range as Fritzjimmins strikes.
Nice sprawl there from Fritzjimmins as Silva shoots in.
Fritzjimmins fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Silva on the side of the head.
No joy there for Fritzjimmins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Silva gets a double leg takedown into Fritzjimmins's guard.

Fritzjimmins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Silva is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Fritzjimmins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.

My spies in Soul Supremacy Elite Gym inform me that Fritzjimmins has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva has his foot on Fritzjimmins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fritzjimmins works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Silva is looking for a sweep. Fritzjimmins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Fritzjimmins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silva defends it well.

Silva is trying desperately to improve position.
Fritzjimmins wants to take Silva's back here but Silva is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Fritzjimmins's attempts to control the action.
Silva tries to reverse the position but Fritzjimmins maintains control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva tries to hold on but Fritzjimmins pushes him away.
Silva sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Fritzjimmins is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fritzjimmins to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Junior Silva will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fritzjimmins's half guard.

It looks like Jim Fritzjimmins has been cut.

Silva softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Fritzjimmins is out cold! Silva jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
