The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda fails with a takedown attempt.
Maeda misses with a takedown attempt - Fala sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fala throws a jab but it's blocked by Maeda.

Fala closes the distance and clinches.
Maeda tries to pull guard but Fala won't allow it.
Tim Fala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keijiro Maeda.
Maeda jumps guard but Fala stands there with Maeda around his waist. Maeda gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Fala just misses with a elbow thrown towards Maeda's brow.
Fala unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Fala lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Keijiro Maeda has been cut.
Maeda tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fala smiles and moves away.
Fala throws the kick towards the body but Maeda avoids it.
Fala ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maeda moves away.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fala gets a clinch.
Fala tries to land a knee to the head but Maeda blocks with his arms.

Fala creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Maeda's defenses.
Maeda blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Fala with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Maeda dodges an elbow strike from Fala.
Fala lands an elbow just above Maeda 's eye.
Maeda trying to control the position but instead, Fala has worked for underhooks and has pushed Maeda into the cage.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Fala.

The cut above Keijiro Maeda's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fala is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Maeda is defending well for now.
Maeda tries to stall but Fala uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Fala lands an elbow just above Maeda 's eye.

Keijiro Maeda's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Maeda wants to take the fight to the mat but Fala manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Keijiro Maeda's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
