Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sol Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dakota Poggensee!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Poggensee forces Bishop back against the cage and clinches.
Bishop wants to stall.

Poggensee manages to break the clinch.

Poggensee closes the distance and clinches.
Bishop slowing the pace effectively.

Poggensee tightens his grip and picks Bishop up, before dumping him to the ground. Bishop manages to land in guard.
Poggensee trying to control the position from guard on top but Bishop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poggensee tries to free his leg and advance position but Bishop is retaining full guard.
Bishop wants to sweep but no luck.

Bishop gets caught napping as Poggensee dives in and scores a takedown. Bishop manages to retain guard.

Bishop shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Poggensee sprawls well. Poggensee wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bishop gets slowly back to his feet.
Poggensee looks to score with a jab to the body but Bishop is just out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poggensee doesn't manage to clinch there - Bishop circles away.

Poggensee bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dakota Poggensee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Bishop postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Bishop wants to get up but he can't break Poggensee's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bishop gets to his feet - Poggensee follows without any prompting.

Bishop has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Poggensee is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Bishop tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Poggensee stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Bishop swats away the attempt to clinch by Poggensee.
Poggensee stuffs the takedown.

Poggensee looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Poggensee wants to advance to full mount but Bishop doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Poggensee tries to stand but Bishop is controlling from the bottom.

Dakota Poggensee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Poggensee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
