Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kurtis Couturier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Belal Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Couturier comes to the cage accompanied by Forever Angel. Li has chosen Fearless as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurtis Couturier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Belal Li!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couturier throws a looping overhand right but Li ducks down to avoid it.
Couturier fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Belal Li has been cut.
Couturier blocks a head kick by Li.
Li throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Couturier pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Couturier lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Couturier moves into the clinch.
Li tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Couturier avoids it.
Couturier lands with a left to the head.

Couturier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Couturier throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Couturier throws a combination. Li tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Li is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Couturier throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Li is still on wobbly legs! Can Couturier finish him?

Couturier darts in and clinches Li up against the cage.
Li seems to have recovered his senses.
Li tries to land a knee to the head but Couturier blocks with his arms.
Li misses with a knee to the head.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Couturier creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Couturier managing to block the knees to the body from Li.
Couturier working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Couturier on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Couturier drops Li onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Li is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Couturier unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Li! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Couturier is unloading with more strikes now! Li drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kurtis Couturier!
A relieved looking Kurtis Couturier thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
