The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Fenix.

Lindsay has closed the distance and engaged Fenix in a clinch.
Fenix lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Winfred Lindsay has been cut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Fenix.

Fenix wants the takedown. Lindsay is fighting it off but Fenix persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lindsay's guard against the cage.

Fenix drops back looking for a leg! Lindsay is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lindsay manages to kick Fenix off! Fenix jumps back into Lindsay's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fenix sitting in guard, not really doing much.
It looks like Fenix might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Lindsay wants to get back to his feet but Fenix passes into half guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Marcus Fenix hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Fenix lands a big head kick that sends Lindsay to the canvas! Fenix follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
