And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Gardens!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gardens scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Fish has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gardens is working away from the top position though.

Gardens fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fish sprawls well initially but Gardens persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Gardens is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gardens is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fish defends it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fish is leaning against Gardens and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Fish tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Fish prevents the takedown attempt.
Gardens blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Nice body punch from Fish - that landed with a thud.
Fish cracks Gardens with a nice body shot.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Fish creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Fish lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gardens backwards.
Fish gets through Gardens's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
A short body shot lands from Fish as the two fighters clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Fish.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fish gets through Gardens's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Gardens avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gardens slips a jab from Fish.

Fish stuffs the takedown attempt from Gardens. Gardens gets slowly back to his feet.
Fish thows a left - swing and a miss!
Fish tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gardens paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Albert Fish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gardens staying out of range there.

Gardens swings around for an armbar but Fish sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gardens's guard.

Gardens has his feet on Fish's thighs here. He's pushed Fish off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Fish screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
