Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Handly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiyoshi Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Handly comes to the cage accompanied by You Dropped a bomb on me. Matsumoto has chosen Carl Douglas - Kung fu fighting as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

With a record of 32 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kiyoshi Matsumoto!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Handly bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Matsumoto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Handly has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Handly and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Matsumoto fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Handly is out of range.

Handly shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matsumoto manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Charles Handly.

Handly shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Matsumoto but Matsumoto pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Handly fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Matsumoto avoids it really well and circles away.

Matsumoto has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
