Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Neil Patrick Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ignas Panavas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neil Patrick Harris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Neil Patrick Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ignas Panavas!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris tries to close the distance and clinch but Panavas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Harris slips a jab and a cross from Panavas.
A combination from Panavas does no damage.
Harris looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Panavas misses with the combination.
Panavas throws a combination. Harris tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Panavas misses with a body shot
and Harris counters with a series of strikes. Panavas will be more careful next time no doubt.
Panavas throws a body punch but Harris moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Harris.
Panavas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Panavas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harris is looking to clinch.
Panavas scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Harris doesn't seem bothered though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Panavas misses with the combination.
Panavas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Harris circles away quickly and effectively.
Panavas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Harris counters by clinching up.
Harris tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harris has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Panavas avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neil Patrick Harris. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harris is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Panavas can't fight it off and eventually Harris manages to take the fight to the floor. Panavas looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Harris has gone for a leg lock! Panavas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Harris's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Harris manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Panavas breaks from the clinch.
Harris fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Harris throws a hook but Panavas avoids it easily.
Panavas throws a hook but Harris blocks it.
Panavas swinging wildly here.

Harris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Panavas to the mat! Panavas manages to get full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Harris postures up in Panavas's guard and throws a big left but Panavas blocks it.
Harris throws a big elbow that misses.
Panavas wants to stand and escape but Harris is having none of it.
Harris sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Harris trying to control but Panavas is working from the bottom.
Harris has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Harris works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Harris frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Harris raining down shots from the mount!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harris controlling the position easily from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Harris jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Panavas manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Harris goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Panavas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Harris but great work by Panavas.
Harris is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Panavas is controlling him well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harris is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Panavas off and has taken his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harris tightening his grip on Panavas, looking for the choke.

Panavas won't enjoy being in this position. Harris looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Panavas is tapping - it's over boys! Harris picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Neil Patrick Harris!
