Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Jenen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Jenen. Carter does a little dance to reset his feet.
Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sloppy strikes from Jenen. Those never looked like landing.

Jenen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Jenen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carter is aware though and is defending well.

Carter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jenen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carter has managed to get both his arms back between Jenen's legs - danger averted.

Carter drops back looking for a leg! Jenen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jenen manages to kick Carter off! Carter jumps back into Jenen's guard.

Jenen is looking for a triangle but Carter pushes his legs off easily.

Jenen has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though.

Jenen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carter tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jenen is in Carter's guard.

Carter pushes Jenen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jenen throws an overhand right that lands on Carter's shoulder, as Carter tries to avoid the shot.

Jenen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jenen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Carter haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Jenen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
