Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between PJ Benn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kowalski has taken the fight to the clinch.
Benn looking to slow down the pace here.

Kowalski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kowalski shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Benn has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Kowalski wants to control but Benn is keeping him busy.
Kowalski tries to pass the half guard into mount. Benn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Kowalski is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Kowalski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kowalski lands a nice shot to the head.
Kowalski fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Kowalski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benn takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kowalski lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Kowalski postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Benn in real trouble here! The ref calls for Benn to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
