The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferreira gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Ferreira has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Sherman comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sherman ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Ferreira. Those never looked like landing.

Sherman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Sherman throws a leg kick but Ferreira checks it.

Ferreira throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sherman's waist but Sherman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ferreira off to one side.
Sherman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ferreira was covering up waiting for the punch and Sherman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Sherman is looking to work some ground and pound but Ferreira has wrist control.

Sherman passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The strikes coming from Sherman are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Ferreira tries to improve position but can't.
Sherman content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Sherman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sherman is working to tighten his grip on Ferreira's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ferreira has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sherman is really squeezing tight and eventually Ferreira passes out! Sherman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
