Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harlan Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandro Wilkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harlan Waters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sandro Wilkes!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilkes instigates a clinch.

Wilkes gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Wilkes is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Wilkes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Waters swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wilkes stands up and waves to Waters to follow him.

Wilkes has closed the distance and engaged Waters in a clinch.
Waters is looking to break free of the clinch but Wilkes has double underhooks.
Waters could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Waters breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wilkes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Waters on his heels. He'll look to pass Waters's guard now, I'm sure.
Waters is trying to keep Wilkes in close.
Wilkes looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Waters is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Wilkes controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sandro Wilkes.
Wilkes misses with a low kick.
Waters darts in looking for a takedown but Wilkes gets double underhooks and turns Waters into the cage.

Wilkes manages to pull guard.
Waters in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Waters is fighting to break Wilkes's control of his arms but Wilkes is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Wilkes's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Waters has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Wilkes is on him like a limpet, forcing Waters back against the cage.

Waters escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wilkes has Waters pressed against the cage, preventing Waters from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wilkes. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Wilkes pushes Waters away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Waters gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Wilkes is looking to get back to his feet here but Waters is keeping cool and he's managed to take Wilkes's back.

Waters throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Wilkes rolls, trying to escape but Waters keeps control of the position.
Wilkes trying to get back to his feet but Waters is in full control for now.
Wilkes is breathing heavily.
Wilkes covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Waters gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilkes wants to control his opponent's hands but Waters gets his hands free.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Wilkes's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Wilkes manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Wilkes.
Wilkes wants to sweep here but Waters controlling him for the moment.
Wilkes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wilkes wants to control but Waters passes easily into half guard.

Waters scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Waters not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Wilkes tries to roll over but Waters keeps him under control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Waters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wilkes tries to avoid it but Waters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wilkes to the ground. Wilkes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Waters creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A frustrated look appears on Waters's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Wilkes tries to break free but Waters pushes him back against the cage.

Wilkes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Waters has him pressed against the cage.
Waters wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Waters wants to get back to striking at distance but Wilkes won't allow it.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Wilkes is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Waters is controlling him well.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Harlan Waters.
I think Waters has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
