PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rosendo Sims (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black fails with a takedown attempt.
Sims misses with a double jab.
Black tries for a takedown but Sims circles away easily

and Sims counters by clinching up.
Sims misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Black.
Sims really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sims throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Sims has Black pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sims pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Black tumbling to the mat - Sims dives into Black's guard.

Sims in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sims slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Black.

Sims is pressed up against the cage. Black has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sims down to the mat. Sims avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Sims is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Black can't fight it off and eventually Sims manages to take the fight to the floor. Black looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Sims throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Black tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sims is in Black's guard.

Black unloads with some shots from mount but Sims bucks and avoids them well.

Black goes for an armbar but Sims turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sims.

Black leaves Sims with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sims lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Black shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sims as he avoids it easily.
Sims throws a right and a left that Black avoids nicely.
Sims throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black.

Sims shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Black sprawls well. Black wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sims gets slowly back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Black shoots and misses

and Sims counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Black!

Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sims jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Black manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Black is being controlled here.
Sims has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Rosendo Sims just wasn't active enough.

Black moves in looking to clinch but Sims pushes him off.

Sims has hold of one of Black's legs. Black is fighting the takedown attempt but Sims gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
