Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Justin Riggs!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggs goes for a double leg but Kalua avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kalua continues to drive forward.
Riggs manages to break the clinch.
Kalua throws a right and a left that both miss.
Riggs takes one on the button.
It looks like Justin Riggs has been cut.
Riggs shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Riggs prevents Kalua from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riggs is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kalua is trying to get back to full guard.
Kalua is holding on to half guard well.
Riggs trying to control from half guard but Kalua is working away.
Kalua is trying to control but can't.

Kalua won't allow Riggs to pass to mount.
Riggs not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Riggs connects with a nice short shot to Kalua's temple.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Riggs working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Kalua has his hands clasped together around Riggs's back. He's all about the action.

Kalua on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kalua tries to get out of the position.

Riggs throws a strike but Kalua rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kalua slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Riggs tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Riggs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kalua is one step ahead there.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Riggs walks into a stiff left hand from Kalua.
Riggs is rocked!
Kalua Throws a clean left jab. Kalua Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Riggs's chin! Riggs crumbles to the ground and Kalua follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Kalua!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Koa Kalua!
Koa Kalua spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
