Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bosse Grepp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johannes Tikkanen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tikkanen throws a jab when Grepp was well out of range.
Tikkanen shoots in but Grepp avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Grepp moves out of range as Tikkanen strikes.

Grepp changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tikkanen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Grepp tries to advance to mount but can't.

Grepp is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Tikkanen has escaped the position, nice work there.

Grepp is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Tikkanen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Grepp is breathing heavily.

Tikkanen regains half guard there - taking advantage of Grepp's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Tikkanen is looking for a sweep. Grepp is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Grepp is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Tikkanen has managed to free his arm - good work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tikkanen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Bosse Grepp has been cut.
No joy there for Tikkanen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tikkanen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Grepp takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Grepp dodges the punch combination from Tikkanen.
Tikkanen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Grepp fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Tikkanen sprawls well initially but Grepp persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tikkanen wants to control but Grepp is keeping busy.
Grepp works his way into side control.

Grepp wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tikkanen, who protects the arm well.

Grepp goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Tikkanen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Grepp's guard! Nice work there by Tikkanen!

Tikkanen wants to work for an arm triangle but Grepp is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Grepp tries to move into range but Tikkanen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Tikkanen lunges at Grepp with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Grepp's hand.
Tikkanen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Grepp avoids the head kick by Tikkanen.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tikkanen, as that shot connected.
Grepp has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Johannes Tikkanen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tikkanen throws a jab when Grepp was well out of range.
Tikkanen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tikkanen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Grepp has time to react.

Tikkanen has closed the distance and engaged Grepp in a clinch.

Tikkanen misses with a jab, cross combination.
