Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trygve Bondevik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richards has chosen Kevin Rudolf - In the City as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Trygve Bondevik!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Richards!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bondevik thows a leg kick but Richards checks it

and Richards counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Richards.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Richards slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Bondevik not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bondevik is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Richards is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Richards has Bondevik pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Richards pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bondevik tumbling to the mat - Richards dives into Bondevik's guard.
Bondevik wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Richards is now in half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Richards sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bondevik's guard.
Bondevik is trying to maintain the position but Richards is very close to passing his half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Richards connects with a nice short shot to Bondevik's temple.

Bondevik is in all sorts of trouble here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Richards can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bondevik is looking to escape.
Bondevik sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Bondevik chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Richards can pounce on him.

Richards looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bondevik with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Richards tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Richards has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bondevik enables Richards to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bondevik manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bondevik is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A big strike lands for Richards! That's really hurt Bondevik and he's turned his back - Richards keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Richards jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
