Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Newton Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Pray by SlaughterHouse. Carlos has chosen Break Stuff as his entrance music. Newton Carlos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Newton Carlos!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlos looks to score with a jab to the body but Jones is just out of range.

Carlos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jones to the mat! Jones manages to get full guard.
Carlos stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Carlos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carlos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jones is trying to control the position but Carlos postures up.
Carlos won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Jones keeping moving, preventing Carlos from controlling successfully.
Jones trying to keep a closed guard but Carlos is proving a slippery customer.

Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carlos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Carlos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Jones!
Carlos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Carlos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jones has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Carlos is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jones can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is trapped and Carlos is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Carlos has his arm under Jones's chin here. Game over son! Carlos squeezes tightly and Jones is forced to tap out!
