Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aubrey Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aubrey Owen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amir Khan!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Dmitry Maklakov and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Owen is trying to defend but Khan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Owen wants to control but Khan is keeping busy.
Owen is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Khan is looking for a kimura but Owen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Khan to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Owen wants to improve his position but Khan is controlling well.
Owen is pressing down on Khan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Khan trying to control the position from guard on top but Owen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Khan with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khan postures up in Owen's guard and throws a big left but Owen blocks it.
Khan is stalling in the full guard.

Owen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Khan postures up.
Khan passes Owen's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Owen is trying to get back to full guard.

Khan stands up out of the half guard.
Khan slips under a jab.
Owen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Khan gets a double leg takedown into Owen's guard.
Owen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Khan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Khan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Khan controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Khan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Owen, up you get!
Owen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Khan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Khan is stalling in the full guard.

Khan stands up and waves to Owen to follow him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Owen.

Khan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Owen tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Khan controlling the position easily from mount.
Owen can't escape the position.
Owen is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Owen tries to hold on but Khan pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Owen is wriggling around trying to escape.

Khan looking for a guillotine from mount but Owen is having none of it.
Owen is working to get back to half guard.
Owen stops Khan from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Owen is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khan looking to ground and pound but Owen is blocking nicely.

Khan controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amir Khan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Owen misses with a head kick.

Khan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Owen controls Khan momentarily but Khan frees himself.
Khan showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Khan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Owen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aubrey Owen wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Khan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee asks Khan politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Khan prefers to stall for the moment though.

Khan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Khan misses with the ground and pound.
Owen is looking for a sweep.
Owen can't do much from the bottom here.
Owen regains half guard.
Khan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Khan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Owen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Khan keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Khan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Owen doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Khan.
Owen is trying to maintain the position but Khan is very close to passing his half guard.
Khan is trying to control. Owen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Amir Khan was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Owen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khan pinned against the cage. Khan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Khan stuns Owen with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Khan tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Khan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Owen did well to prevent Khan getting side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Owen keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amir Khan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Khan feints and as Owen raises his hands in defense, Khan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Khan stands up and waves to Owen to follow him.
Owen tests Khan's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Khan lands with a shot to the body.
Khan lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Owen falls backwards - clearly groggy! Khan dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Amir Khan!
