The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mlodzinski sprawls well. Mlodzinski wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alvarez gets slowly back to his feet.
Mlodzinski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvarez wants to slow Mlodzinski down by chopping away at his legs.

It looks like Wes Alvarez has been cut.
Alvarez closes the distance and clinches up with Mlodzinski, looking for a takedown. Alvarez pushes Mlodzinski against the cage but Mlodzinski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
