Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jose Aldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinton Xavier Potterswheel!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potterswheel avoids the head kick by Aldo.
Aldo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Aldo tries a head kick but it misses.
Aldo avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Potterswheel is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Aldo.
Potterswheel looks to land a left hand but Aldo moved out of range nicely.
Aldo misses with a wild combination.
Aldo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Jose Aldo has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aldo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Aldo lands a head kick!
Aldo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Potterswheel.

Potterswheel connects with a right hand. Aldo shakes it off.

Potterswheel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Aldo sprawls well initially but Potterswheel persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Potterswheel lands with a punch from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aldo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Potterswheel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aldo keeps working.
Aldo is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Potterswheel prevents Aldo from improving his position.
Aldo is controlling Potterswheel's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Potterswheel connects with a nice short shot to Aldo's temple.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Potterswheel is looking to take a break and control but Aldo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Aldo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jose Aldo.
Horrible takedown by Potterswheel or perhaps it was just good defense by Aldo which made him look bad.
A jab from Potterswheel misses.
Potterswheel avoids a punch combination nicely.
Potterswheel throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Aldo sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Aldo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Potterswheel.
Aldo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Potterswheel has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Aldo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A telegraphed right hand from Potterswheel misses the target.
A right-left combo lands from Aldo.
Potterswheel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aldo moves away.
Potterswheel swings for the body but Aldo moves out of range.
Potterswheel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Aldo on the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Potterswheel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Potterswheel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Aldo avoids it really well and circles away.
We've been told by Aldo's head coaches at HILITE Fighting Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sloppy strikes from Potterswheel. Those never looked like landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Quinton Xavier Potterswheel will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jose Aldo's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Potterswheel stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Aldo.
Aldo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Potterswheel avoids the head kick by Aldo.

Potterswheel fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Aldo to the ground. Potterswheel is now in Aldo's guard.
Aldo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Potterswheel throws a big elbow that misses.
Potterswheel trying to control the position from guard on top but Aldo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Aldo has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Aldo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Aldo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Potterswheel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Potterswheel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Potterswheel stops Aldo from standing up.
Aldo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Potterswheel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Potterswheel slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Potterswheel looks up at the clock and then as Aldo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Potterswheel smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

You can see the frustration on Aldo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Potterswheel throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Potterswheel looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Potterswheel moves into full mount!
Aldo tries to lock up and control but Potterswheel gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Aldo is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Aldo tries to hold on but Potterswheel postures up.
Aldo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Potterswheel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Potterswheel scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Potterswheel avoids the attempt from Aldo to control.

Potterswheel wants to control the pace but Aldo is squirming around nicely.
Aldo is in a horrible position here. Potterswheel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Potterswheel breaks from Aldo's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Potterswheel lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Oh Aldo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Potterswheel cracks Aldo with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Quinton Xavier Potterswheel!
Quinton Xavier Potterswheel decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
