Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scotty Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alonso closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Carter prevents Alonso from improving position.
Alonso wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carter keeps working.

Alonso is trying to get an arm triangle but Carter is defending well.
Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Alonso wants to stand but Carter has his arm trapped.
Carter scores with a shot to the body.

Carter throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Alonso scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Carter to see if he's OK.

Carter throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Alonso blocks the strikes from Carter.

Alonso has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Carter is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Alonso yanks on the arm and Carter is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Alonso.
