Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Odis Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Florian Knaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Odis Gonzales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Florian Knaf!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzales takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Gonzales gets caught flat footed, as Knaf shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Knaf stands up from Gonzales's guard - Knaf perhaps looking for a knockout.
Gonzales really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gonzales shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Knaf wants to sweep but no luck.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gonzales accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Knaf keeping moving, preventing Gonzales from controlling successfully.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Knaf trying to control the position here.
Gonzales working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Gonzales avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gonzales stopping the sweep attempt from Knaf.

Gonzales got a little sloppy there for a moment and Knaf has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gonzales has managed to get both his arms back between Knaf's legs - danger averted.
Knaf looking to control.
Gonzales lands a couple of digs.
Gonzales postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Knaf manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gonzales manages to get himself to full guard.
Knaf trying to control the position from guard on top but Gonzales is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Knaf might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gonzales haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Knaf is fighting to break Gonzales's control of his arms but Gonzales is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Florian Knaf has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Knaf's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Knaf duly obliges.
Gonzales shoots in for a takedown but Knaf shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A slapping leg kick lands for Knaf.
Knaf throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Knaf closes the distance and pushes Gonzales back into the cage.
Gonzales fails to pull guard.

Knaf breaks from the clinch.

Gonzales tries to keep at a distance but Knaf has taken the fight into the clinch.

Knaf breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Knaf fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gonzales to the ground. Knaf is now in Gonzales's guard.
Gonzales is pulling down on Knaf's head. It's preventing any offense from Knaf, at least for the moment.
Knaf is stalling in the full guard.
Gonzales will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gonzales looking to hit a scissor sweep but Knaf is one step ahead there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knaf slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Florian Knaf wasn't active enough on the ground.

Knaf closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gonzales quickly recovers to half guard.
Knaf looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gonzales has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knaf is working away from the top position though.
Knaf tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gonzales knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Florian Knaf dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Knaf bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gonzales is trying to control Knaf's posture but Knaf avoids it.
Knaf has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Gonzales!
Knaf controlling the position easily from mount.
Florian Knaf has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gonzales tries to hold on but Knaf postures up.
Knaf sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Gonzales is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Knaf trying to control but Gonzales is having none of it.
Gonzales wants to hold on but Knaf pushes him away.
Gonzales tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Knaf with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Knaf trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Gonzales defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Knaf.

Gonzales wants to control but Knaf is having none of it.
Gonzales is looking to get to half guard.
Knaf controlling the pace for now.
Knaf can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gonzales is looking to escape.
Gonzales working to try and regain half guard.
Knaf pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


It looks like Odis Gonzales has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knaf with shots to the head and body - Gonzales looks very uncomfortable down there.
Knaf wants to control the pace but Gonzales is squirming around nicely.
Knaf is landing with some decent strikes but Gonzales is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Gonzales is rocked!

Knaf working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Oh Gonzales is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Knaf lands with some strikes.
Knaf loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gonzales scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Knaf land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Knaf stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Florian Knaf!
